Childhood obesity Factors

Children in America are getting obese, this is causing some serious health risks in people that grow up with obesity, there needs to be a change in our lifestyle and we need to educate our children on what is good for them and what is not.

Experts say that there are different causes of childhood obesity, it can be an emotional problem, it could be genetic, lack of healthy food or lack of physical activities. But what is the real truth, lets see the facts.

In the last 20 years childhood obesity has doubled, in those years media advertisement and technology has also grown exponentially, our children are exposed to more than 40,000 tv ads a year. They are watching more tv that in school, they are not doing physical sports anymore, they prefer to play sports video games.

So who is responsible for this imbalance of health in our kids, we cant just blame parents or the media, there are many factors involved in our lifestyles that have created our unhealthy conditions.

Here are some childhood obesity factors that can change and prevent this problem:

Dont let your child watch too much tv or play many hours of video games, they are wasting too much time doing nothing and sitting without moving eating snacks. This has to change, encourage sports with their friends, at home and in school.

Give your child good nutrition, cook nutritive food that is full of vitamins and minerals, including fruits and vegetables. Dont buy them many candies and snacks they dont need it, those are full of sugars and can become addictive.

You need to talk with your child at let him know of the dangers of junk food, encourage him to do activities like sports and dont let him stay in front of the tv for long time because they are being brainwashed with thousands of junk food ads.
