What type of paint can I use to stencil paint on a wall with a flat paint surface?

Craft paint from Michael's or other hobby store works well & is cheap, too!
If it flat paint you can use any as long it is the same base ( latex or oil ) Most people i know use a washable kids crayon so if they ever want another type of stencil they don't have to do the hole painting deal. Not to mention it is allot easier than painting.
Plaids stencil paint works well. It easy to use you can get it at any craft store. Good Luck
Presuming the flat paint on the wall is latex (water-based), any paint can be used. I would choose either an acrylic craft paint good for stencilling, or any standard latex (preferably acrylic) house paint in an eggshell finish. Good luck.
